Pre-Work (for early release PD on September 18)
  1. Team reads/studies the overview of the unit (everyone reads). Then the group jigsaws the (a) getting ready section, (b) assessment section, (c) teaching points and links in each unit, (d) anchor charts, (e) learning progression, and (f) student work.
  2. As teachers read, they keep notes of skills, what students need to do independently, ideas to launch and celebrate.
  3. Team chooses five lessons. Each person reads one lesson and shares a micro-version (3-4 minutes) of each lesson (including teaching point and a bit of teaching)
  4. As the micro-version is taught, the teachers do the work the students are expected to do. 
  5. The group looks at how student work in the unit matches the skills of the unit (i.e., anchor charts, learning progression, and student work exemplars)

Site Visit (October 2)
  1. Tammy models/guides using assessment data and unit to plan a lesson
  2. Teachers work with a partner and use assessment data to adjust the lesson
  3. Tammy demonstrates teaching in front of teachers
  4. Teachers teach to a small group while Tammy watches/supports/coaches

Coaching Plan After Professional Learning with Tammy
  1. Teachers try a lesson individually in the classroom watching/supporting each other
  2. Teachers bring a tool, piece of student work, or children's book to share at the next session
